It all started with a unique idea

In 2008, Rudolf Franke began developing the i-mop technology. This marked the birth of a completely new category of compact scrubber-dryer machines. The i-mop category combines the cleaning performance of traditional scrubber-dryers with the 360° maneuverability of the cleaning head. This is made possible by a uniquely articulated connection between the base unit and the handle.

The arrangement of the tools generates forward drive, so the operator can steer the machine in the desired direction without pushing or pulling. This allows for ergonomic, low-effort working.

50+ Patents. And counting.

What starts as an idea becomes an invention at HAWIG. Over a century of machine development has produced more than 100 intellectual property filings and over 50 granted patents. Each one represents a problem we solved before others even saw it coming.

Launch of the
i-mop in 2013

After many years of development, the first pre-series model was presented in 2013 at CMS Berlin together with our partner (FCT, now i-team global). Through our partner’s global network, i-mop technology is now successfully used all over the world.

Joint flexibility for unlimited access

With a 360-degree swivel joint, the i-mop’s mobility is as flexible as it gets allowing it to clean around and under tables, benches and other nooks and crannies that may seem impossible to reach.

Manoeuvre without pushing

Designed with user-friendliness in mind, the i-mop allows operators to maneuver effortlessly thanks to brushes that generate forward movement without the need to apply any strength.

Maintenance friendly through modular design

With interchangeable parts and adaptable features, the i-mop can easily be maintained. Its modular design ensures quick repairs and a longer lifespan.

Water-saving and less chemicals

The advanced water management system of the i-mop uses significantly less water and cleaning chemicals, making it an eco-friendly choice without compromising on cleanliness.

Parking and rolling function for easy mobility

The i-mop can be parked upright, saving space and allowing for quick pauses during cleaning. The rolling function allows the iMop to be easily moved from one location to another, enhancing mobility and convenience for the user.
